Follow it one way and you walk to Apollo Bay, walk westward to the Bald Hill Lookout and Shelley Beach and you'll experience one of the best ocean views ever. Simply leave your cottage, take your own private track to the farmland and then you're on the Great Ocean Walk. | | | | | Coves and Beaches Sandy coves, beaches and ancient rock shelves run continuously in front of Coast Cottages. They offer total freedom for dips, walks, games and smells for curious dogs! Apollo Bay Township Apollo Bay is a very dog-friendly township. Nearly all cafes and restaurants have outdoor tables for enjoyment of coffee and meals together. The walk to Apollo Bay from Coast Cottages is mainly along the Great Ocean Walk and beautiful beaches and takes about one hour. Apollo Bay Market Held every Saturday morning on the foreshore opposite the shops. Features local produce, crafts and musicians. Great for fresh veges, eggs, cakes, jams, relishes, plants and goodies. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Barham River Estuary Explore the river where it meets the ocean near the golf course. Dogs can paddle, swim and feel safe away from the ocean. Sometimes the river is low, after rain it swirls and deepens. A spot offering variety and a terrific place for a picnic. | | | | | Twelve Apostles and the Great Otway National Park The Great Ocean Road west of Apollo Bay will take you to national parks, waterfalls and dramatic coastline. Major features include the Twelve Apostles, Maits Rest Rainforest reserve, Cape Otway Lightstation, The Otway Fly, Glenample Homestead and Melba Gully. Dogs are not permitted in national parks, so they need to stay in the car (weather permitting), or leave with a carer. | | | | | | Apollo Bay Wharf, Harbour & Breakwater Stroll around an area that gives a different perspective on the township and rolling hills of Apollo Bay.
